Welcome!

Well, hello everyone! I am so excited for the beginning of the new school year and having a brand new group of students! I began this blog to help keep parents informed as to what's happening in our class. I want to make this blog fun and interesting for parents and teachers alike. My goal is to share class activities, happenings, ideas, websites and anything else that may come to mind for our student's education. Please feel free to explore our blog. I welcome any comments and/or ideas you may have. As a matter of fact, I encourage it! You can follow us by email for any new posts or updates.

"All About Me" Project

For the month of September we will concentrate on "home" and "All About Me" (no, not me, but each individual student).
Below is information on the take home project for your child.   It will also count for enrichment hours for our parents.
Each child will create a small poster (provided by us) with items, drawings and/or pictures that show your child's interests and family members.  We want you to help your child but, please allow your child to do the work.
Some examples of what we will be looking for would be:

  •  favorite color (you could use a ribbon or just use a crayon)
  • favorite food (a picture from a magazine or food wrapper)
  • they can write their name
  • draw pictures of siblings or snapshots can be glued or taped
  • favorite toy and/or tv show
  • draw pictures or cut magazine pictures of things they like to do
  • pictures of their pets and names of their pets
  • they can write how old they are and/or when their birthday is

All pictures can be drawn if magazine pictures are not available.  If you attach photos please make sure you have copies in case they get torn or lost, as we will create a class book from the projects to be used in our reading center for most of the year.
Project is due September 21st.
We expect child created writing and work with parent assistance.
If you have any questions, please let me know or comment below and I'll reply back.  Comment more ideas to add to the project if you'd like.  It's all about your child!
Thanks!
